Meet Donna
Yoga teacher | Trauma informed yoga facilitator | Yoga therapist for PTSD &
Founder of The SOLACE Yoga & Wellness Programme for Survivors
I have been teaching yoga full time since 2017 in and around Nottingham and the South Nottinghamshire area. I am a certified and registered 400 hour (Yoga Alliance) yoga teacher, a yoga therapist for PTSD (The Minded Institute, London) and a Yoga Alliance Certified, Trauma, Resilience and Embodied Yoga teacher, with a background in law and social justice.
I teach a variety of practices from vinyasa flow and gentle flow yoga through to the slower practices of yin yoga, restorative yoga, Imagine Rest and yoga nidra. All of my community classes are taught in a trauma sensitive way and with a leaning towards embodiment.

Yoga became part of my own self care practice after suffering from significant spinal problems from age 15 and undergoing a number of spinal surgeries. I was finally led to yoga by the NHS after years of living with chronic pain. I felt a light and freedom in my physical body instantly with a regular and consistent practice leading to significant changes in my quality of life.
Alongside the physical improvements I saw, I quickly recognised the parallel messages of self-compassion, improved resilience, self-acceptance and empowerment, alongside an increased ability to self-regulate and manage my own experiences with trauma and anxiety.

I haven't looked back since and welcome you to come and explore the wonders of yoga with me. I am passionate and firmly rooted in sharing the many tools of this ancient practice with its more modern and ever-increasing correlating neuro-scientific evidence.
