I have been teaching yoga full time since 2017 in and around Nottingham and the South Nottinghamshire area. I am a Senior Yoga Teacher (Yoga Alliance) with over 900 hours of training, a yoga therapist for C-PTSD, PTSD and anxiety (The Minded Institute, London), a Yoga Alliance certified Trauma Resilience and Embodied Yoga teacher and a Somatic Coach for women with a background in law and social justice.

 

I offer a variety of trauma informed led practices. My yoga teaching leans towards a gentle, embodied and somatic offering, combining approaches from the many hundreds of hours of training I have undertaken; this also includes the deeply nurturing rest practices of restorative yoga and yoga nidra.   

Yoga became a part of my own self care practice after suffering from significant spinal problems from the age of 15 resulting in a number of spinal surgeries. I was finally guided to yoga by the NHS in my mid 30's after years of living with chronic pain. I felt a lightness and a freedom in my physical body instantly, and with a regular and consistent practice I have experienced significant changes in my spinal health and quality of life.

Alongside these physical improvements, I very quickly recognised the parallel messages of self-compassion, improved resilience, self-acceptance and empowerment, alongside an increased ability to better resource my nervous system and manage my own experiences with childhood trauma, grief and anxiety.  

I continue to be a student of yoga and a dedicated seeker and practitioner. It's a practice which is rich and profound and interlaced with thousands of years of wisdom, gifting tools and techniques that seek to resource and nourish all of our human layers. I welcome you to come and explore the many wonders of yoga with me. I am passionate and firmly rooted in sharing this ancient practice with its more modern and ever-increasing correlating neuro-scientific evidence.
